• Main activities and responsibilities

 

  • Teaching and research in the field of „Medicinal Plants“, „Medicinal plants and their used”, „Fundamentals of pharmacognosy and phytotherapy”,  „Growing and processing of medicinal plants”, „Agri-tourism“ and „Country Tourism“, „Special Crop Production“,  subjects.
  • Research work aim to production characteristics and quantitative-qualitative parameters of medicinal, aromatic and spices plants mainly of Silybum marianum, Anthemis tinctoria, Ocimum basilicum, Calendula officinalis, Echinacea ssp., Salvia ssp., Melissa officinalis and Leuzea rhapontica.
  • Survey and monitoring of genetic resources and biodiversity protection of medicinal, aromatic and spices plants of family Asteraceae and Lamiaceae.
  • Determination of content and quality of active components, contamination of vegetable drugs by heavy metals and undesirable ingredients and their influence on quality of herbal blends and phytofarmaceutics.
  • Research of quantitative and qualitative parameters of selected species of renewable energy plants mainly: Salix ssp. and Amaranthus ssp.
  • Exploration of landscape conditions and project creation of rural tourism and agri-tourism in the Slovak Republic.
  • Exploration and decomposition of initial factor for development of rural tourism and agri-tourism.
